Used and admired throughout history for their beauty, status and powerful properties, crystals have been capturing people's hearts from the very beginning... and we think it's safe to say they continue to do so to this day!
From powerful tools for overcoming the stresses and strains of daily life, aiding in sleep, wearing on your adventures in jewellery form and bringing incredible positive energy into your home or workplace, there's truly something for everyone in the world of gemstones, and gems have truly become a staple addition to homes and lives all around the world.
Recently, we were asked what our favourite ways of using crystals in day-to-day life were, and we thought what better way to compile the glorious gemstone goodness than for our Gemstone Emporium members?!
Without further ado, here are Team Alyssa's top 5 personal favourite ways to bring a dash of gemstone magic into your life!
Our 5 Favourite Ways to Use Crystals
1. Wearable Crystal Jewellery

This one had to be at the top of our list as it’s just so versatile…even if we may be a TINY bit biased as we just enjoy making these so much! In fact, one of our newest collections is full of some gorgeous new pieces featuring honey garnet crystals.
With this style of jewellery, you’ll always get two for the price of one, as you have a stunning new addition that’s wearable with any outfit, AND you also receive the wonderful benefits of the crystal of your choosing, too! For people who like to throw on some jewellery and get on with their day, but also want a straightforward way to keep their mood-boosting crystals close by on all their, gemstone jewellery is the way to go!
2. Spruce Up Your Home!

What can we say, we simply can’t get enough of crystals! Every member of team Alyssa has at least a couple of their favourite crystals dotted around their homes, workspaces and even in their cars, and placing a few of your fave gems around your home is an easy way to begin introducing the benefits of crystals into your life.
Pop a handful of mixed tumble stones into a dish or bowl, treat yourself to a crystal incense burner or candle holder, create a windowsill display…you can even make a more permanent crystal feature in your garden to help you enjoy your green space while out sunbathing or gardening all year round!
We also personally LOVE the addition of a crystal tray or board on our living room coffee or dining room tables, especially when you’re having guests over. Not only does it help bring some wonderful energy into your home, but the crystals will be a perfect conversation starter!
A lovely and simple yet effective way to pop a crystal or two into your home is the crystal pendulum, which takes us onto number 3!
3. Pendulums

In at number 3, we have the wonderful crystal pendulum!
Pendulums are generally small to medium sized crystals which have been shaped and polished in points and hexagons, which are then suspended from a chain or piece of material. Not only are crystal pendulums known to be incredibly powerful healers, but they are most commonly used when people seek answers or solutions in their life.
Whether you’ve used one before or are completely new to pendulums, they are a wonderful addition to any collection as they can be used for whichever purpose most suits you, and there is no one size fits all way to work with them! 4. Carry Your Favourites
With the most readily-available crystals being small and smooth in size and shape, carrying them along with you on your daily adventures is the quickest and simplest way to introduce healing, calming benefits to your life! Pick out a new crystal each day or keep your favourite safely stowed away in your regular jacket or coat, and set out each morning with the positive energy to guide you.
Carrying crystals is a method that can be used by crystal collectors of all ages, from children at school taking a small tumble stone in their bag or pocket, through to people travelling, starting new jobs and working through turbulent times. Crystals are a perfect addition to any lifestyle, whether you’re currently experiencing difficulties and challenges or not, and carrying them with you keeps you as close as possible to your gems at all times!
If you experience anxiety, holding a smooth, shaped crystal in the palm of your hand and focusing on it deeply in times of stress and upset can help you ground and bring yourself back into the present. This is particularly helpful when used in conjunction with mediation, but if meditation is something you personally struggle with, carrying your favourite crystal with each day can be a wonderful alternative!
5. Crystals For Sleep
Last but by no means least, crystals are a wonderful tool to make use of if you’re struggling with sleep, or simply wanting to improve your bedroom space and create an aura of calm to help you unwind!
Ensuring your bedroom space is as calm and relaxing as possible is key to a good night’s sleep, especially as a good night’s sleep actually begins long before you climb into bed at the end of a long day! By popping a few of your favourite gems in various spots around your room, you’ll be well on your way to a comfortable environment that helps you wind down and prepare for a healthy night’s sleep.
Amethyst, Labradorite, Rose Quartz and Smoky Quartz are a handful of our team’s favourites for popping on the bedside table, inside a drawer or underneath a pillow for restful sleep, positive dreams and a relaxing bedroom environment.
