‘Driving Home for Christmas’ Protective Crystals!
Inspired by the well-loved Christmas song-Driving Home for Christmas, we thought we would bring you our own version, but instead of words, we're all about the crystals to drive home (or away!) with this festive season!
It has long been considered throughout history that crystals hold some very powerful healing properties that can help you in so many ways: from crystals to protect and calm to crystals that empower and boost. That’s why, this Christmas, Team Alyssa are focusing on crystals that can help your festive season run just a little bit smoother!
Whether you’re driving home or driving away this Christmas, these little protective beauties can help give you peace of mind…and after a rather strange Christmas for us all last year, we want to do all we can to enjoy this lovely season with our loved ones where possible. So let’s take a look at why and how these little gems are so powerful, and why these should be accompanying you in your pockets/suitcase/passenger seat or bag this Christmas!
Pryite
The stunning Pyrite has made it to the top of our Driving Home for Christmas crystal list this year! It takes its name from the Greek word ‘pyrós’ meaning fire, and this stone certainly lives up to its name as a positive energy powerhouse! This gemstone has a brilliant history originally stemming from use in Native American culture, where the gems were used to polish and make mirrors which were believed to show people their soul.
Pyrite is said to be a wonderful tool for correcting any emotional imbalances and healing the spirit and soul as well as allowing us to better connect with our passion and motivation! It also wards off negative energy and enables you to go about your day feeling safe and protected.
Pyrite’s metallic lustre is also said to protect against environmental pollutants such as Electro-Magnetic Frequencies, which many people often wish to reduce their exposure to! Hematite
In at number 2… This beauty has been one of our favourite gems at House of Alyssa for years now. Alyssa’s earliest pieces of jewellery often incorporated Hematite because it is both gorgeous to look at and has some awesome healing powers. As a magnetic stone by nature, this stunning mineral gemstone has some brilliant protective and healing properties! An iron-based stone (which gives it its shiny silver appearance), Hematite helps to focus energy and can even regulate blood flow and blood pressure due to its magnetic properties! Hematite’s name even comes from the Greek word for blood!
Hematite is a very grounding stone and a root chakra stone, helping you to balance emotions and connect with mind, body and spirit. It is believed that Hematite can create a protective shield around you which helps ward of negative energy, hence why it is so often used in protective jewellery! Pop this one on your dash, in your glove box or in your pocket as a little protective talisman.
Labradorite
Little flashes of light appear to shine from the inside of this magical little gem, and we simply had to include this in our Christmas recommendations! Originating in the Labrador Peninsula, Canada, Labradorite is an absolutely stunning stone, with legends claiming that it is the stone in which the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) was born from (and with colours like this, you can understand why)!
Labradorite is yet another stone said to possess incredible protective properties, keeping you safe from negative vibes and presences: exactly what you want to ensure a memorable festive season! As well as being highly protective, Labradorite is also known as the stone of transformation, allowing a connection your inner self and consciousness.
Many people believe that this stone has a strong connection with nature because of the fascinating legends surrounding it, with many saying they believe it helps them feel a greater connection with nature! We particularly love this gemstone here at Sparkle Towers for its gorgeous unique looks and properties! Another great one for popping in your coat pocket/suitcase/glove box and taking on your travels.
Fluorite
The final protective crystal in our Christmas crystal list is Fluorite, the stone of self confidence and protection.
Fluorite is a very popular stone for protection against bad vibes and manipulation, giving you space to release outdated energies and beliefs and open up space for new positive change-we can’t think of anything better for the New Year! This stone is like Pyrite in its ability to block Electro Magnetic Frequencies and enhance learning, making it perfect for the home or next to your computer in the office. Blue Fluorite is particularly wonderful for promoting healthy communication and relationships.
