This Valentine’s Day, we are doing a little something different and celebrating hearts as well as love- Afterall- without our hearts, where would we be?

Proudly presenting our beautiful heart trace studs for the British Heart Foundation which are now available for a few short days, with every pair raising money for this incredible charity.

A little word from Alyssa-

‘’The British Heart Foundation has always been a charity that I have been active in supporting, and I started raising money for them when I was about 20 in various ways. Coming from a family who seem to have a lot in the way of broken hearts, it seemed only fitting. I myself have a heart condition, as well as my sister and both are unrelated. My dad has had 3 heart attacks and my nephew, now a grown man in his 20’s was born with a hole in his heart, needing to be flown to a specialist hospital for open heart surgery when he was just hours old. When my dad suffered his biggest and first heart attack, I was in my final year of university and I was 20 years old.

Since then, my mum has hosted endless tea parties and coffee mornings in her little house where we would bake for hours to help raise money. We even made little heart shaped knitted treasures to hang on door knobs, Christmas trees and anywhere you might like to put them. I made my first piece of jewellery to raise money for the BHF when I was 21 and before I had started Alyssa Smith Jewellery, and every few years since then I have been doing the same.
