This Christmas, Team Alyssa are helping make
wishes come true for our local hospital.
All throughout the month of December, we are raising valuable funds for our local hospital to kick start a very much needed renovation project. £1 from every order placed at The House of Alyssa Smith this month will be donated towards helping this plan become a reality. We will be waving our magic wands and turning a wish list from the Lister Hospital into an action plan to make a real difference to the lives of people in our local community, and we couldn’t be more delighted to help!
This Christmas, the House of Alyssa jewellery elves are up to their usual tricks of spreading love far and wide! Last Christmas, as you may remember, we helped to raise valuable funds for the Salvation Army Christmas appeal, putting on Christmas dinner (and a gift each!) for vulnerable members of society all over Hertfordshire, including the elderly and homeless. It made such a huge difference to people’s lives!
We absolutely loved helping the Salvation Army, especially at Christmas, which can be a fantastic time for many but a very lonely time for others. Our project from 2021 changed the way many in our community saw the festive season and we couldn’t have done it without your help!
THIS YEAR, we’re up to more life-changing plans for the local community but for a very different cause this time. With every purchase made online at the House of Alyssa Smith throughout the whole of December 2022, we will be donating £1 per order to the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity, Hertfordshire’s local NHS Charity supporting patients, staff and families at the Lister, New QEII, Hertford County Hospitals and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
Funds raised from Alyssa’s Christmas appeal will go towards refurbishing rooms within the early pregnancy unit (known as the EPU) at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
We are raising money to help make these rooms a nicer place for the families and individuals who find themselves there. Work will include funding the decoration, murals to make the rooms more pleasant and positive, new and comfortable furniture, lighting and refreshment stations which will enhance the experience for local families needing support at the unit. Having seen first hand how desperately in need of help this unit is, we couldn’t help but pick this cause for our Christmas project this year, since we know it will help as many (if not more!) people than our Salvation Army fundraiser did the previous year!
‘’Until I got to know the lovely staff at the EPU and the struggles they are facing when it comes to funding and resources, I had no idea just how many people and families walked through the doors in this place and use the facilities which are in desperate need of renovation and improvements. When I looked further into the stats, I was so shocked at just how many families attend the EPU, a part of the hospital I previously didn’t even know was there! I am really pleased to be helping them this December and I know that the money we raise will be so well spent, and so many people will benefit from the project too!’’ – Alyssa x
We are so happy to be supporting this charity this Christmas and to be able to give back to our local community. We look forward to making a positive change with the donations which will help so many people and families who walk through those doors in the coming years, in need of support and a quiet place to think; grieve and heal.
But of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing customers who are ordering from us this month, so remember that £1 from every single order placed at the House of Alyssa this month will be donated to this charity!
We can’t wait to see how much we raise. We will of course keep you all posted with the project as our funds are used (we love a before and after photo too!).
Thank you everyone for the support as always, and here’s to many more years of making small changes that really do add up and change lives.
