IT STARTED WITH A TWEET!

The world famous Smith & Perry Motorsports Jewellery Collection has gone from strength to strength ever since its creation in 2013. A collaboration between two likeminded individuals, marrying together Suzi Perry’s love of motorsports and all things fast, with Alyssa’s passion for precious metal jewellery and creating wearable artwork in miniature form.

The collection was first influenced by social media interactions from fans, after which the talented ladies sat down to come up with the first collection of miniature race tracks, the size of a thumb nail- and even partnered up with organisations such as Silverstone and Brands Hatch for permission to use their track outlines under a licence agreement.

The original and first piece to be created under the Smith & Perry brand was the waved flag necklace, and this was instantly snapped up by fans around the world after being spotted around Suzi’s neck during her appearances whilst presenting the Formula 1 races. The rest was history!

THE POPULARITY OF SMITH & PERRY

The Smith & Perry collection became so popular that the duo soon started branching out into more than just flags and miniature race tracks- The collection grew and grew, and the team began creating miniature sterling silver racing inspired charms such as helmets, steering wheels, cars and more.

Always looking to push the boundaries on what ‘wearable’ masterpieces could do, or ‘be’, the expansion of collection even went on to produce pieces which open, such as helmets with opening and closing visors, things that spin such as our spinning tyres, and things which move- including our moving pistons!

The entire Smith & Perry collection was refreshed and relaunched for Winter 2020, and continues to be snapped up by collectors around the world.

MAKE A PROMISE, DELIVER A DREAM

Select proceeds from the collection are donated to Promise Dreams Childrens Charity, a Wolverhampton based charity of which Suzi is a patron of, and which Alyssa now also has much involvement with. The Charity was launched in 2001, and do such important work to assist seriously and terminally poorly children and their families, granting them wishes and dreams to help make their lives easier- such as breathing equipment, a whirlpool baths to aid pain, or medical treatment. They grant little wishes too, such as a trip to Disneyland or a helping organise a meeting with the childs favourite superhero- We think you will agree, this is a great cause to be a part of!

Thanks to the popularity of the collection over the years, we have raised over £15,000 for this wonderful charity, and we are still counting!

Much to the duo’s delight, Alyssa was fortunate enough to win the Promise Dreams fundraiser of the year award in December 2015, which was an absolute honour to receive, and we hope to be able to raise more money and help grant more ‘wishes’ to children in need for many more years to come.
