It is well known that crystals have long been used as wonderful tools for healing, protection and more. However, did you know that these stunning stones can be created in a HUGE array of shapes, and that every single shape has a different meaning and purpose?
Crystals are often hand carved and manufactured into popular shapes which all have their very own meaning, on top of the incredible benefits the crystals already provide!
It is believed that the shapes of crystals can enhance the intention and even amplify the power of the crystals used, so it may be that this is something you take into consideration when choosing your very own crystals.

1. Sphere
Considered
to be one of the ‘softest’ and gentlest shapes of them all due to their
smoothness and lack of sharp edges, a crystal in the shape of a sphere is
associated with wholeness and feeling complete, as well as eternity and peace.
Feeling complete helps us to appreciate the world, people and things around us
and find the beauty in the little things each day, making sphere-shaped
crystals a perfect choice for anyone looking to take each moment as it comes
and feel grateful for all that they currently have!
Spheres represent cycles and stages, which we all know life has MANY of! A crystal in this shape supports us through these shifts and cycles and allows us to go through life with greater ease. Not only that, but a sphere-shaped crystal makes a wonderfully comfortable tool for simply holding in the palm of your hand, whether relaxing and meditating or while out and about during the day! They are also extremely convenient for carrying around in your bag or pocket all day long without risk of little pieces breaking off and being lost.
Most people are aware of the popularity of crystal balls for divination and psychic practices, and now you know why this shape is so frequently used! One of our very favourite sphere crystal pieces at the moment is our incredible Crystal or Rose Quartz Aura Sphere.
2. Egg
A recent favourite of ours here at Sparkle Towers, egg shaped crystals are not only unique and stunning, but bring with them a whole host of wonderful benefits such as supporting new beginnings, healing the aura and helping in the pursuit of personal transformations!
These stunning little stones are also believed to be highly connected to fertility and, when created out of particular stones such as rose quartz, are often used by new mothers or those trying for a baby. Not only are these little beauties incredibly powerful, they also make a wonderful little addition to the home when placed in a bowl or on display with your other favourite crystals.
Egg shaped crystals may be carried but tend to be slightly more delicate than spheres due to their shape and nature, so please take care if you decide to take yours on a little adventure!

3. Heart
We adore our unusual crystals here at Sparkle Towers, such as our Tree Agate Hearts!
As well as looking simply gorgeous and being a wonderful gift to give to your loved ones, there is so much more to heart-shapes crystals than meets the eye!
Crystal Hearts are a traditional stone representing love and relationships, believed to have a very strong connection to the heart chakra. Whether for gifting or for keeping, gemstone hearts make a wonderful staple in any gemstone collection as well as a perfect piece for practising yoga and mindfulness activities. With a pure, high-vibrational energy, heart-shaped crystals radiate love and light and are the perfect crystal for manifestation!
Small gemstone hearts make a wonderful little crystal to carry around with you whether you’re at home or away, and can be even more meaningful when gifted from or to a loved one. We love our crystal hearts for times when we are seeking strengthened relationships and healing emotional wounds.
4. Skull
We just HAD to add this unusual shape to our list!
Skulls are not likely to be the very first thing that comes to mind when you think about gemstone shapes, but it is certainly one that has increased in popularity over time (and it is the obvious choice for anyone looking to spice up their crystal collection with something different!). Most skull-shaped crystals are intricately hand carved and detailed, with many being very realistic.
Due to their uses throughout history, crystal skulls are believed to help people connect with their past relatives and ancestors because of their obvious connection to the self and the human body. Many people choose a crystal skull for decoration around the house due to their unique appearance, although they are equally as popular as a tool for mediation as they can easily be held in the hand and focused upon: they are even used in spiritual practice for protection and healing, or when searching for reassurance and answers to important questions!

5. Tumble Stone
It may be the most common cut and shape of crystal, generally smaller in size and easily available for purchase, but tumble stones are by no means less than any other shape! Small chunks of our gorgeous stones are cut and tumbled, leaving them perfectly polished and smooth. They are a wonderful gemstone to pick if you’re looking for your very first crystal due to them being more affordable than many other gemstone shapes, and their gentle energy makes them so popular with people of all ages!
Tumble stones have long been known as one of the very best all-purpose stones as their shape is simply perfect for reflecting and radiating energy in many directions, and lots of it! These little beauties are great for placing on different parts of the body during meditation or simply while relaxing, especially when they are placed on the chakras.
If you’re looking for a gemstone that is small enough to carry about with you on a daily basis and safe enough to place in a bag, pocket or desk at home or work, a tumble stone or two could be just what you’re seeking! Tumble stones look gorgeous when placed together in a bowl for decoration. Our Aquamarine tumble stones are one of our very favourites: we just LOVE placing them all together in a Selenite bowl on a windowsill, perfect for charging under the light of the full moon or sun!
6. Pendulum

Last but by no means least, we have the incredible crystal pendulum!
Crystals in the shape of pendulums are not only known to be incredibly powerful healers but are most commonly used when people seek answers in their life, no matter how big or small!
Whether you’ve used one before or are completely new to pendulums and their uses, they are a wonderful addition to any crystal collection as they can be used for whichever purpose most suits you, and there is no one size fits all way to work with them!
