Whilst we do not claim to be perfect here at House of Alyssa Smith, we are always striving to do better in the way we run our little brand, and the efforts we make in reducing our carbon footprint are improving every year.

Why we said no to soy wax for our candles.

Our decision to make sure that our candles were completely vegan, cruelty free and not tested on animals in any way was one we felt very strongly about, and we wanted to make sure that what we were putting into our atmosphere was as ‘clean’ as it could possibly be.

Sustainable and re-usable gift wrapping

Packaging with a Past Life!

Anyone who knows anything about packaging in retail will probably know that making significant changes to packaging can be quite expensive: the recycled paper and card that we use within our printed media often costs far more than purchasing high-gloss card and paper that has not yet had a previous life, and switching to eco cardboard for gift bags and boxes is similarly pricey.
